The value of Academia-Industry Cooperation in Times of Uncertainty and Disruption / Opportunities for German-Japanese Cooperation

 

We would like to invite you to our Executive Insights event jointly organized by AHK Japan, NRW Global Business Japan, DWIH Tokyo and the German Embassy in Japan featuring a keynote by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dr. h. c. mult. Ulrich Rüdiger, Rector at RWTH Aachen University, as well as further professors of the university in a moderated discussion.  

RWTH Aachen University’s success is based on academic excellence, a strong ecosystem, global talent and partnering with industry. Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dr. h. c. mult. Ulrich Rüdiger will explain why cooperation with partner institutions in Japan is key to RWTH’s profile-driven internationalization strategy in the face of global challenges amidst geo-political unrest and systemic rivalry. 

Scientists from RWTH who actively collaborate with Japanese partners will join Prof. Rüdiger and share success stories and factors during the subsequent moderated discussion.

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dr. h. c. mult. Ulrich Rüdiger

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dr. h. c. mult. Ulrich Rüdiger, Rector of RWTH Aachen University since 2018, graduated with a Diploma Degree in Physics (Dipl.-Phys.), received his Doctorate (Dr. rer. nat) from the Faculty of Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences, RWTH Aachen University (1997). Previously, he was Rector of the University of Konstanz (2009-2018) and Professor and Chair of Experimental Physics at the University of Konstanz (2002-2018). 

He is member of TU9, the association of leading German universities of technology, member of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK), member of the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA), member of the Advisory Board for the “Aachen Engineering Award”, member of the Board of Rectors of the IDEA League, Chair of the Board of Governors of the German University of Technology in Oman – GUtech and member of the Advisory Board of Tokyo Institute of Technology and other organizations.
