About our Keynote Speekers
Tetsuro Fukunaga
Director-General, Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry
After joining METI in 1991, Mr. Tetsuro Fukunaga, Director-General of Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau at METI, was engaged in Japan’s accession to TPP and launched the DFFT concept. Mr. Fukunaga currently oversees policy initiatives in areas such as investment promotion and economic security. Japan's inward investment has remained low compared with outward investment, but Japan's reputation as an investment destination is improving for investors in various countries. Japan is thus strengthening its efforts to attract funds and human resources from abroad, with focus on digital, green, and healthcare. In this presentation, Mr. Fukunaga will introduce Japan’s policy developments aimed at sustaining a "growth economy" through inward investment.

His appointments during this time included Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Senior Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Minster of State for Special Missions.
